4 Magnificent Succulents You Can Grow at Home

1. SNAKE JAW (HAWORTHIA FASCIATA)

Native to Africa, the snake jaw succulent – also known as the zebra cactus, is a plant with pointed leaves that grow upwards. This flower, with its unique appearance, takes up little space and requires very little care. Footnote: Changing its pot once every 18 months will ensure your plant grows healthily. Additionally, do not place your snake jaw succulent in direct sunlight, but it is still recommended to keep it in a bright room.

2. ALOE VERA

Aloe vera is a medicinal plant used in many therapeutic applications, especially for skin conditions. This plant, which is particularly beneficial for sunburns, also looks quite stylish indoors. However, as the tips of aloe vera leaves are sharp, it should be kept out of reach of children. Furthermore, its pot does not need to be changed as long as the roots do not overcrowd it, and it should be placed in a location that receives a few hours of sunlight daily. Footnote: It is not recommended to water until the soil dries out. In other words, you should water your plant after the previous watering has completely dried out.

3. MEXICAN SNOWBALL (ECHEVERIA ELEGANS)

Like Aloe Vera, this beautiful succulent does not require watering again until its soil is completely dry and should be kept in a place that receives sunlight. However, it is not recommended to keep it in direct sunlight. It is not cold-resistant. It is a plant that is not poisonous to humans or animals. This small and fleshy succulent, which is quite easy to care for, is recommended to be kept on the south side of the house.

4. BURRO'S TAIL SUCCULENT (SEDUM MORGANIANUM)

Another succulent that is quite easy to care for is the burro's tail succulent. This flower is also a cousin of the plant we know as the money plant. Sedum morganianum is generally a succulent with small chubby cheeks on long stems that hang from pots, and leaves arranged like pearls. It is a plant that tends to hang and spread with its braided stems. It likes bright and sunny locations. It is recommended to water it with drinking water or rested tap water as chlorine in tap water can harm it. It is not a plant that needs to be watered constantly; watering it once every 2 weeks is sufficient. Since it does not like too much cold, it is recommended to bring it indoors during the winter months. As you can see, succulents are generally quite easy to care for. The care for many other succulent types is more or less the same as these 4 types; they generally do not like the cold, they need a bright place where they can benefit from daylight, and they do not require watering again until their soil dries out. For these reasons, you can comfortably care for these beautiful plants in the southern part of your home and bring joy to both your eyes and your spirit.
