Batteries with a Limited Lifespan
Notebook batteries are products with a limited lifespan. Even a person who follows all the rules to be careful will have a maximum of 3 years to use the same battery. After 3 years, problems with not charging start to occur, and it becomes necessary to replace the dead battery with a new one. For this reason, care should be taken in usage and the usage time should be increased as much as possible. Although laptop batteries are covered by product warranty, if there is no direct user error for which you are responsible (e.g., the product being opened by someone other than an authorized service, the battery malfunctioning while being shocked), the battery will be replaced free of charge by the authorized service within the warranty period. For the first use of the battery, it must be kept on charge for at least 1 day (unless otherwise stated in the user manual) and the battery must be fully charged. After the battery is fully charged, its energy should be used down to 5% by using the laptop at least 3 times, and then it should be charged again until it is full.
Things to Consider
If this process is repeated 3-4 times, the initial charging of the battery will be successful. If these are not paid attention to, the failure of the initial charging process will negatively affect the efficiency of battery usage, and consequently, the battery life will automatically decrease. Another issue as important as the initial charging process is the method followed during each charging process. The notebook battery should always be charged without being reset (ideally, allowing it to discharge to around 5% and plugging it in for charging at this level), and similarly, it should not be unplugged before it is fully charged. Otherwise, each section of the battery that is not charged will slowly start to die, and as this process is repeated, the number of cells affected by the dead cells will increase, leading to the problem of the battery not charging after a while. In fact, the battery structures of mobile phones and laptop computers are very similar. While half-charging kills the battery in both, long-term use is possible with conscious use. In addition to all these, protecting the battery from excessively hot and cold environments, preventing spyware that can cause the battery to overheat with virus scanning programs, and using a cooler will ensure the longevity of the battery.
