What Should Be Considered When Selecting and Using a Pool Pump?
Pool pumps are centrifugal pumps. They ensure the circulation of water by creating inlet - outlet energy in the pool water. Thus, they are machines that move pool water during processes such as filtration, emptying, and circulation. Thanks to the pool pump, water is taken from the balance tank, and the water sucked from the bottom suction/vacuum nozzle is pressurized. Then, the water is transferred to filters, multi-way valves, heaters, and feeders. In small pools, plastic-bodied pumps with basket strainers on the suction side are generally used. Basket strainers hold back debris that could damage the pump and prevent them from entering the pump. First and foremost, the pumps selected for pool use should be proportional to the size and square footage of the pool. A pool pump should never be operated dry. The pump must be in the off position when changing valve positions. The outlet valve should be in the closed position when the pool pump is running. Pool pumps are more durable when located in a dry, fresh, and ventilated area. This makes it easier for the pump motor to cool down. When pool pumps are located in an enclosed space, the pumps return the hot air passing through them to the motor, thus making it difficult for the motor to cool down. In a properly functioning pool pump, air bubbles or air gaps can be observed through the transparent cover on the pre-filter.
