Cervical Cancer Vaccine and Its Importance in Cervical Cancer Treatment
Cervical Cancer Treatment
The first method applied for cervical cancer treatment, as with all other cancer types, is surgical intervention, i.e., surgery. While cervical cancer surgery is a treatment method applied to early-stage cancer patients, chemotherapy and radiotherapy are included in the treatment method in advanced stages. In some cases, if the cancerous cells can be controlled with these methods, surgery may be considered again.
Cervical Cancer Vaccine
Unlike all other cancer types, a vaccine has been developed to prevent cervical cancer, which is a type of cancer transmitted by a virus. The cervical cancer vaccine provides a certain level of protection against this disease, but the vaccine has no therapeutic effect. The sole purpose of the vaccine is to prevent the transmission of the disease.
